Titonka Music (BMI) & Watobi Music (ASCAP)

We are committed to...

  • Respecting the roots and traditions that have made hit songwriting the craft it is, while allowing our writers to find their creative edge and artistically explore that edge.

  • Developing our writers’ careers for the long term.

  • Actively and aggressively working ALL of our song catalog so that its value to investors and writers alike is maximized.

  • Being fair, ethical, and honorable in all our dealings, both with our writers and the music industry at large.

  • Dreaming big, then methodically... song after song... deal after deal... making dreams become reality.

  • Valuing our people more than the bottom line... Of course, we know that the bottom line is important, but we believe that by valuing our people, we are valuing ourselves.

Submission Guidelines

If you would like to submit your music to us for consideration, we have a few simple guidelines that we must insist you adhere to:

1.) For first-time submissions, we ONLY accept those that are mailed to our Nashville office. Here is the address:

VanWatkins, LLC
Titonka/Watobi Music
Attn: Submissions
2112 Timberwood Place
Nashville, TN 37215

2.) We prefer CDs. However, if a cassette is all you have, send it on! Do not worry about fancy production... Lyric, melody and chord structure are generally enough. If we are interested in your song, it is likely that we will ask for some portions to be rewritten anyway!

3.) Please send no more than 3 songs (we will assume that they are your 3 best), and please do NOT send us any song over 4 ½ minutes. We actually like them around 3 minutes in length, give or take about 30 seconds each way (nix the 45 second guitar solo and 30 second intro... we are sure that they are cool, but we will leave it up to the one who cuts your song to add them later, and if the song can’t stand without them, they probably needs to be rewritten anyway). Also, don’t forget the lyrics!

4.) If you want your music returned to you, it is up to you to enclose a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope.

5.) Finally... Be VERY patient... Due to the volume of submissions, it may take us awhile to get to yours. Furthermore, we cannot guarantee you anything.

Generally, we will only contact you if we are interested in publishing your material. We do not have the staff to do more than this.

We also encourage every songwriter to look into NSAI. They can help you develop your craft, network, and better understand the industry!

We wish you all the best and extreme success!
